Once in a while, I come across articles that offer advice on how to live life to the fullest, or what to do to be happier, more productive or more successful. I decided to compile my own list. I love Persian poetry. Mostly classic ones by legendary poets such as Rumi and Hafez. The following is by Iran’s most controversial and influential female poet of the twentieth century, Forough Farrokhzad. She was also a film director. Farrokhzad’s poetry was banned for over a decade after the Islamic revolution in Iran. She died in a car accident at age thirty-two. One of my favorite poems by her is posted below.
Much has changed in recent years in the field of journalism, communication and media. Every minute of the day, forty-eight hours of video is uploaded to YouTube. This past October, Facebook surpassed 1 billion users. By the year 2013, more people will use their mobile phones than PCs to get online. One thing that hasn’t changed, and I don’t think ever will, is that great storytelling is the basis of great content, regardless of the medium used.
No doubt that Justin Trudeau will be elected as the leader of the Liberal party of Canada on Sunday, April 14. At the leadership candidate national showcase in Toronto on April 6, Trudeau stressed his vision for diversity and federalism. He spoke of the importance of the middle class, and emphasized hope and hard work as necessary to achieve success in the next federal elections.
